13 out of the 1,125 billionaires of the Forbes list are true bloggers

By A Bisht at 12:17 AM

13 out of the 1,125 billionaires of the Forbes list are true bloggers.

Just to clarify, they are not people who became billionaires out of blogging; but these 13 are billionaires who blog.

These 13 range in age from 24 to 80.

Mark Zukerberg is youngest at 24.

T. Boone Pickens is the oldest at 80.

These billionaire bloggers span five industries, and blog(write) about different things.

Some use their blogs as a PR machine, some to take on critics, some simply to connect with people; and some to help those who want to learn from their lives. And so on...

Some billionaire bloggers who you may know:

Oprah Winfrey (The tear inducing, bee-hive hairdo sporting,gift-distributing hostess of "The Oprah Winfrey Show")

Donald Trump(The rich guy who promises jobs to aspirants in the reality show "The Apprentice")

J.K. Rowling(author of Harry Potter series; don't confuse with the name, it is the name of woman)

Mark Cuban (owner Dallas Mavericks baseball team)

Interesting fact about blogging:

More than 112 million or 11 crore people in the world blog regularly or are true bloggers.

The Best Bloggers in the World

By Michael Wong

The most hardcore bloggers are from...the Philippines.

Sure here in North America, we have our Shoemoney's and Problogger's, but in my honest opinion, no one does pack blogging like bloggers from the Phillipines.

When I say pack blogging, I don't mean group blogging. Boingboing.net does group blogging - one blog, a group of bloggers. Pack blogging is the co-ordinated efforts between hundreds sometimes thousands of blogs to promote each other.

Case in point, if you get the chance scroll through my blogroll at:

Big Money List

Half the blogs there are from amazing Filipina bloggers like my little sis (not biological, more blogly spiritual) Emjei. Aside from

Kookaboo

, she runs a ton of other blogs and takes down insane amounts of cash from her blogging efforts.

Or take a look at Mel who created the wildly successful Big Bang Master List at Big Bang Master List.

She got more than 1000 blogs linking to her and her to them. Oh and she runs many other successful blog meme trains for the purposes of boosting Techno-ranking. Her inbound links are in the 3000s. Yes, 3000 inbound links!

Many of these Filipina bloggers have 500+ rankings putting them in the top 5000 blogs worldwide.

Pretty good for small country that isn't exactly known for blogs and bloggers huh?

You really have to hand it to people like Emjei and Mel who combine hard-workingness, innovation, and grace and do it so wonderfully. Me, I'm proud to have made their friendship. My rankings have personally benefitted from knowing them and I hope to learn a lot more from them in the months and years ahead. I apologize for all the Filipina bloggers whom space and time do not allow me to name. My blogroll is a testament to your awesomeness.

BTW--aside from the Philippines, did I mention Malaysia is pretty amazing when it comes to blogging too?
